Workshops & Experimental Trainings

Creative regulation through neuro-art and mindful practices

Short-format experiences with lasting impact

Workshops at MAP Integrative Therapies offer focused, experiential spaces to slow down, regulate, and reconnect through creative, neuroscience-informed practices.

They are designed for adults who value:

  • depth without overwhelm

  • experience over theory

  • creativity as a pathway to regulation and insight

Workshops can be experienced as stand-alone offerings or as an entry point into longer programs.

Some workshops are offered online live through zoom, while others are in-person in different locations in North Carolina.

What you may experience

Depending on the workshop, experiences may include:

  • neuro-art and neurographic drawing

  • guided creative processes

  • nervous system regulation practices

  • reflective integration and discussion

  • space for insight and embodiment

The focus is always on process, presence, and integration — not artistic outcomes.

Who workshops are for

  • Workshops are open to:

  • adults seeking emotional regulation and clarity

  • parents and caregivers

  • professionals in helping or creative fields

  • individuals curious about neuro-art and expressive practices

  • No artistic background is required.

Formats

  • Workshops may be offered as:

  • single-session experiences (2–3 hours)

  • short series (2–4 sessions)

  • online or in-person offerings

  • Each workshop is clearly described before registration so participants can choose what feels aligned.

Why creativity?

Creative processes engage the nervous system differently than conversation alone,

working through the body in a non-verbal.

It allows:

Emotional expression without over-verbalization

Integration of insight and sensation

Access to internal states with greater safety

Creativity becomes a regulatory language.
